Sabre Paris – New Classic
Sabre Paris is a French cutlery brand founded in 1993 by designer Francis Gelb and his wife, Pascal Gelb.
As Francis Gelb himself says, he was practically born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He comes from a family of goldsmiths and grew up immersed in the craftsmanship of table settings, materials, and details. It is this background that has shaped his approach to design—where function and aesthetics are always intertwined.
Together, Francis and Pascal Gelb wanted to rethink classic French cutlery. Not by discarding tradition, but by giving it a more playful and contemporary expression, where colors and materials are allowed to take center stage.
French Dining Traditions
French dining traditions are characterized by a particular attention to ritual, form, and detail surrounding the meal. The table is not merely a practical place to eat, but a setting for socializing, conversation, and aesthetic enjoyment.
