Focus on sustainability: GOTS-certified organic cotton and recycled cotton
Midnatt always strives to give your home a contemporary look, while prioritizing sustainability. Since their launch in 2017, Midnatt has used GOTS certified organic cotton in all their products. In 2021, the entire production chain also achieved GOTS certification.
Midnatt's production takes place in Tamil Nadu, India, where textile production and cotton cultivation take place close to each other. Midnatt collaborates with a small, family-owned sewing factory, where the new generation leads the transition to GOTS-certified production. The fabric and dyeing are sourced from local producers, all GOTS certified, and the products are then transported to Europe by sea. By minimizing the transport distance, Midnatt keeps their environmental footprint as small as possible.
The GOTS certification covers not only the ecological aspects of production, but also social aspects such as working conditions, which is essential for Midnatt as a small player.
Midnatt also uses recycled cotton in their production. In India, the factories sort their cotton waste and resell it to recycling plants that create "new" raw materials from cotton. Midnatt's Indian factory buys ready-made yarn from recycled cotton, which Midnatt has woven into the fabric.
