Laoru Laoru is a Danish design and artist duo founded by Jacob and Katrine Laoru. With more than 14 years of experience in sculpture, they create unique ceramic reliefs and handmade wall art, inspired by ancient architecture and timeless form. Every piece is crafted in their Aarhus studio, where passion for ceramics and aesthetics merges into artworks for the modern home.

Laoru Laoru primarily works in stoneware, transforming clay into striking face fragments and wall sculptures. Each piece is handmade from start to finish and gains its unique expression through the glazes Antique White, Copper Green, Crystal Green and Warm Sand. These finishes add depth, variation and vibrant character, making every artwork truly one of a kind.

Laoru Laoru was created by Jacob and Katrine Laoru, who share both their surname and their passion for ceramics. The name is inspired by the character “Hlao-roo” from the novel Watership Down, meaning “little clay pot” – a symbol of their deep connection to the material. Their work spans from one-of-a-kind pieces to series production, always with a focus on evolving techniques and creating wall art that feels timeless and meaningful.
