Ceramic reliefs and handcrafted wall art inspired by classical architecture and design.
Art with character and depth
The wall art from Laoru Laoru consists of handcrafted ceramic reliefs, where facial fragments – eyes, ears, and mouths – become sculptural wall décor.
The collection includes individual reliefs, wall-mounted sculptures, and curated combinations, where multiple elements are composed into a cohesive whole. You can choose a ready-made arrangement or create your own wall.
In addition, the collection features functional bookends in the same design language, extending the sculptural expression into the interior.
Minimalist design with calm and sensuality
The minimalist aesthetic is not cold, but vibrant. Subtle shades and textures create a quiet depth that slowly emerges, giving the works a palpable presence. Laoru Laoru works with tranquility as a quality in itself—where the objects create small pauses in everyday life and open up moments of contemplation and mindfulness.
The surfaces appear calm and tactile, inviting touch—a sensory experience that unfolds in the encounter between hand, light, and space.
Unique Wall Art and Bookends
Wall art from Laoru Laoru unfolds as a series of ceramic fragments, where parts of the face – eyes, ears, and mouths – become independent, sculptural elements.
The collection includes individual reliefs and wall-mounted sculptures such as Third Eye, as well as larger masks and curated compositions, where multiple fragments are combined into a cohesive whole. In addition, there are functional objects such as bookends shaped as eyes and mouths, extending the sculptural expression into the space.

Meet the artists behind Laoru Laoru
Laoru Laoru is a Danish design and sculpture duo consisting of Jacob and Katrine Laoru, working from their atelier in Aarhus.
Drawing on classical architecture and sculpture, they create handcrafted ceramic reliefs, sculptures, and functional objects in stoneware.
Each piece is developed from initial idea to finished product by their own hands – from shaping and casting to glazing. They work with both small series and one-of-a-kind pieces, where every object reflects the material and the craftsmanship behind it.
The name Laoru Laoru comes from their shared surname and references the character ‘Hlao-roo’ from Watership Down, meaning “little clay pot.”
