About Serax
Serax was founded in 1986 by brothers Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche. What began as a family business has since grown into an international creative universe. After almost 40 years, Axel Van Den Bossche has passed the torch to Tim Kamanayo, who now leads Serax and its continued development.
From its headquarters in Antwerp, Serax develops its collections in close collaboration with its team, international designers and skilled artisans from around the world. Together, they create contemporary designs with a strong focus on quality, aesthetics and functionality.
Although each collection is unique in its expression and choice of materials, all Serax designs are rooted in the same core values: accessibility, quality and functionality.

Serax works closely with skilled artisans who explore the possibilities of traditional materials such as stone, wood, metal, glass and clay. With respect for traditional techniques and a modern aesthetic approach, they create designs that allow the natural character of each material to shine through.

At Studio Hafnia, we offer a carefully curated selection from Serax, bringing together designs that reflect the brand’s unique combination of aesthetics, functionality, and craftsmanship.
Our selection includes the iconic Pawn chairs and side tables in stoneware, designed by Marie Michielssen, who has been part of Serax’s in-house design team for more than 20 years and is known for her distinctive visual language. In addition, you’ll find the beautiful scented candles and the sculptural ceramic candle holders, designed by Portuguese artist Bela Silva.
