Timeless Danish design and Swiss functionality since 1957

Detra is an iconic shelving system with roots dating back to 1957, created in Switzerland and today produced in Denmark. The system is renowned for its simple construction, its industrial aesthetic, and its almost limitless configuration possibilities. Detra consists of four core elements – wall rail, lower bracket, upper bracket, and shelf – which together form a flexible and long-lasting shelving solution.

 

A flexible shelving system for both private and professional environments

Detra is designed for spaces where functionality, aesthetics, and durability go hand in hand. The system is used in private homes as well as in hotels, restaurants, shops, offices, and institutions. The numbered console holes, adjustable brackets, and wide selection of shelf materials provide complete freedom to tailor the system to both practical and design needs.

 

Materials of the highest quality

The wall rails are made from strong aluminium, the brackets from die-cast zinc, and the shelves are available in materials such as oak, smoked oak, curled aluminium, metal, laminate, brass, and glass. The combination of these materials creates a system that appears visually light yet is robust enough for professional use. Depending on configuration and width, the shelves can carry up to 80–110 kg.

 

Endless configuration possibilities

Detra can be adapted to any room – from kitchen, living room, and hallway to office, bathroom, children’s room, or workstation. The system can also be configured as a desk or complete workspace. With shelf lengths from 800 mm to 2540 mm, depths of 200 or 270 mm, and wall rails in heights from 250 mm to 2500 mm, you can create everything from minimalist bookcases to larger storage and display solutions.

The shelves are available as straight or angled in materials such as aluminium, oak (natural or smoked), glass, melamine, lacquered metal, or brass.
