At Studio Hafnia we proudly present a collection of beautiful Christmas ornaments by the Danish designer Sissel Edelbo. Her handmade ornaments are created from repurposed textiles and vintage silk saris – a tribute to sustainability, authenticity and the magic of Christmas.

Historic silk saris – unique Christmas decorations with soul

Sissel Edelbo’s ornaments are made from carefully selected Indian silk saris that were once worn by women in India. Each silk carries its own story and is given new life as a Christmas decoration. No two are alike – every single piece is a small fragment of cultural heritage in a new form.

Kantha embroidery – upcycling at its finest

The collection also includes ornaments made from kanthas – traditional Indian quilts stitched from layer upon layer of old cotton saris and refined with the characteristic kantha embroidery. Leftover materials from Sissel Edelbo’s clothing production are transformed into unique Christmas ornaments, where every stitch tells a story of reuse and craftsmanship.
