Vintage Murano globe table lamp in white bubble glass, mouth-blown in Italy. The entire sphere is filled with tiny air bubbles set in a regular pattern inside the glass, catching the light like dew on a window. This is the Italian bullicante technique, where the bubbles are created deliberately during blowing.
The lamp is the same model as our labelled VeLuce example, but no longer carries its maker's label underneath. The brass base, on the other hand, is clearly patinated – dark speckles and a lived-in, uneven sheen after decades of use, neither polished nor lacquered. It gives a warmer, rawer look than bright brass and sits beautifully against the cool, milky white glass.
The cord is new: white, with an inline switch and EU plug, so the lamp is ready to use straight away. The socket sits inside the glass globe and cannot be seen from the outside, so we do not state the socket size – a low-wattage bulb suits the glass best, and that is when the bubbles show most clearly. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
The lamp is in good vintage condition with signs of age. Handmade Murano glass may have small variations in shape, bubble size and surface – these are not flaws, but the very craftsmanship that makes each piece unique.
