A small, round Murano table lamp in white filigrana glass – a globe of just 20 cm that takes up little space and still changes a room. The hair-fine, milky-white glass canes are drawn into the clear globe and gather into a small star at the top, where the glass was finished off. This is the classic filigrana technique from Murano, and it calls for a steady hand: every line has to sit at the same distance all the way round. The globe rests on a polished brass foot, where the golden metal answers the cooler white of the glass.

Lit, the crisp lines soften and the lamp gives a warm, milky light that never glares; switched off it stands graphic and striped, a small sculptural object. The format makes it ideal on the bedside table, in a window sill, on a shelf or as extra light on the desk. The lamp takes a small E14 fitting and has just been rewired with a new white cord with switch and EU plug, so it is ready to plug in – use a bulb of max. 40 W. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Please note that handmade Murano glass may have small variations in shape, pattern and surface – including air bubbles, uneven spacing between the canes or minor irregularities. These are not defects, but part of the unique character and craftsmanship that make each piece of Murano glass truly special.
