Beautiful vintage Murano table lamp in white bullicante glass – the Italian technique where tiny air bubbles are captured in a controlled pattern inside the glass itself. The globe is mouth-blown in Italy and still carries its original VeLuce “Made in Italy” label on the underside. The opaline, milky-white glass is densely scattered with bubbles that catch the light like small dewdrops – and when the lamp is lit they read as a gentle, dotted relief in the warm glow. The globe sits on a polished brass base.
The lamp takes a small E14 fitting and has just been rewired with a new white cord with switch and EU plug. A bulb of max. 40 W suits the glass best and lets the bubbles come forward. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth. A round, calm lamp that gives soft mood lighting on the bedside table, the chest of drawers, the console or in a window sill.
Please note that the bubbles in bullicante glass are deliberately created by the glassblower and are precisely what defines the lamp. Beyond that, handmade Murano glass may have small variations in shape, pattern and surface – including uneven bubble sizes or minor irregularities. These are not defects, but part of the unique character and craftsmanship that make each piece of Murano glass truly special.
