Heim Ober-Ramstadt was founded in 1862. The third generation, Georg Friedrich Heim (also known as GF Heim-Söhne), began experimenting with new materials and found Plexiglas, developed by the company Rohm and Haas, to be an ideal material. However, the focus remained on form and design.
