Vintage Murano Mushroom Table Lamp in Light Yellow Swirl Glass | H25.5 cm
●In stock at our Frederiksberg store – ready for quick pickup
Vintage Murano mushroom table lamp in light yellow swirl glass, mouth-blown in Italy in the 1960s or 1970s. The soft, buttery yellow is one of the hardest colours to find in the mushroom family, and it only truly comes alive when the lamp is lit and the whole glass glows in a warm, honeyed light.
Both the shade and the spherical base are blown with the characteristic optical swirl pattern that winds in an even spiral through the glass. The pattern forms as the glass is turned during blowing, which is why it is never quite the same from one lamp to the next.
The lamp still carries its original Vetro Originale Murano label on the shade – a sticker that rarely survives half a century, and one that confirms the glass was blown on Murano rather than being a later imitation.
The cord is new: white, with a switch and an EU plug, so the lamp is ready to use straight away. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth. The lamp is in very good vintage condition with light signs of age.
