Verk Armchair V.EU.01 is a generous and sculptural armchair designed by Elsa Unnegård for Verk. Made exclusively from solid Swedish oak or birch, the chair has a clear artisan expression with exposed joints in the load-bearing structure and a light seat in contrast.

The armchair features a seat in ecologically tanned Swedish leather and a cushion filled with needleloom felt from 100% Swedish wool, offering comfort and durability for longer sittings. Integrated furniture pads made from ecologically tanned Swedish leather complete the refined construction.

V.EU.01 was created as a truly all-Swedish piece of furniture – in terms of both materials and production. It contains no nails, no screws, and no laminated layers, relying instead on traditional joinery and thoughtful construction. The result is a timeless armchair that unites craftsmanship, sustainability, and contemporary Nordic design.

Design

The design balances sculptural purity with structural logic, reflecting Elsa Unnegård’s approach to “peel off rather than add more”. Every element fulfills a function, and the exposed joints highlight the honesty of the construction.
