A tall vintage Kokeshi doll from Japan, numbered 243, with a slender, cylindrical body and a soft, smiling expression. The face is finely painted with narrow eyes, a small mouth and dark hair adorned with red flowers on the crown.
The body is made of light, natural wood and decorated with bold red chrysanthemum flowers with black leaves, framed by red bands. The back is left undecorated, highlighting the light wood. The underside is signed in black brush.
This doll is in excellent vintage condition with only minimal signs of use that reflect its age and history.
