A tall and beautifully patinated vintage Kokeshi doll with a serene expression and elegant floral design. The face features narrow eyes, softly rounded cheeks, and a gentle smile, framed by dark side sections and a topknot-style hairstyle. Red flower petals crown the head, painted in a stylized, ornamental way.
The body is decorated with a large red flower and green-black leaves, hand-painted with bold strokes on the front. The back is plain, showing natural patina and wear in the wood. The doll is signed underneath in black ink and dated "53.1.6", which corresponds to January 6th, 1978 in the Japanese Showa calendar.
This is a sculptural and balanced piece that will appeal to collectors who value size, harmony, and vintage charm.
