Vintage Kokeshi Doll No. 223 from Japan – Handcrafted | H 26 cm
A classic vintage Kokeshi doll with striking stripes and a timeless, gentle expression.
The face is simple and serene, with narrow eyes, softly arched brows, and a small mouth that lends the doll a calm presence. Black hair is painted with rounded contours and red ribbon-like accents, while the top of the head features a circular motif in black and red.
The body is hand-painted with rhythmic stripes in red, green, and beige, running all around. The vivid colors create a graphic, balanced look that enhances the doll’s slender proportions.
The underside is signed with Japanese characters, confirming its handmade origin.
A well-preserved and characterful Kokeshi doll that combines simplicity with the traditional striped decoration.
