A mug in white Japanese ceramic with a dark blue floral pattern and a warm brown rim. The form is softly fluted, and the mug rests on a raised white foot ring that gives it a light, upright look. 250 ml – the right size for morning coffee or a cup of tea at the end of the day.
The pattern belongs to the karakusa family: the winding vines that are one of Japan's oldest decorative motifs, standing for long life and prosperity. The mug is Mino ceramics from Gifu prefecture – the region that has been firing everyday pottery for Japanese homes for more than 400 years.
