Daisaku Chou Andon Triangle – Japanese rice paper table lamp, large
The large Andon Triangle is a floor lantern with real presence. Its triangular shape is a modern take on the traditional Japanese andon, and in this bigger format it becomes a calm, sculptural focal point – on the floor, in a window, or on a low side table. Light is filtered softly through hand-folded Mino washi paper, giving a warm, muted glow that lifts the mood of a room without ever dazzling.
The lamp is designed by Daisaku Chou for Asano Shoten in Gifu, where paper lanterns have been folded for generations. It runs on battery and is completely free of cords and outlets, so you can move it wherever a little extra calm is needed. Changing the batteries is simple: lift the top of the small holder around the bulb and swap the two AA cells.
