A large and striking vintage Kokeshi doll with a classic shape and bold painted details.
The face is friendly and harmonious, with arched brows, narrow eyes, and a small rounded mouth that gives the doll a gentle, welcoming expression. The hair is painted black, framing the face with red details on the sides. On top of the head, circular decorations in red and beige add a distinctive touch.
The body is decorated with wide, hand-painted bands in red tones, along with wave-like and geometric patterns that create a lively and decorative expression. The colors emphasize the tall, slender proportions of the doll and stand out beautifully against the pale wood.
The base is signed with Japanese characters – an authentic mark of its origin and craftsmanship. The condition is very fine, with only minimal signs of use.
