Owl Vase 'After Midnight' Large – White | Marni x Serax
The large white Owl Vase from After Midnight is Marni's most graphic interpretation of the iconic owl. Where the rest of the series plays with colour, the pure white glaze instead lets the form take over – the sculptural ears, the watchful eyes and the soft, organic body appear sharp and calm at once.
After Midnight grew out of the collaboration between Italian fashion house Marni and Belgian brand Serax and carries on the mood of the popular Midnight Flowers series. The owl is conceived as an object that breaks the seriousness – a small piece of poetry that appears as evening falls.
At 30 cm tall the large version has enough weight and presence to carry a room. Place it alone as a sculpture on the floor or console, or fill it with tall branches, pampas or a few dramatic poppies.
The vase is shaped in glazed stoneware and finished by hand, and each piece carries small, natural variations as well as Marni and Serax' signature on the base.
