New Mags – cookbooks, coffee table books and notebooks
New Mags is a Danish book distributor from Horsens that brings some of the world's most beautiful books to Scandinavia. The range spans cookbooks and coffee table books to magazines and notebooks, and what they share is that they are as much object as reading matter. A New Mags book is interior design you can also read.
Cookbooks from the Copenhagen restaurant scene
We have gathered four cookbooks that are all rooted in Copenhagen. Osteria 16 No. 1 and Osteria 16 No. 2 by Morten Kaltoft and Emil Alsbo hold 160 simple Italian dishes between them, served family style as you know it from their antipasti restaurants in Vesterbro and Nørrebro.
Atelier September: A Place for Daytime Cooking is Frederik Bille Brahe's first cookbook with 86 mainly vegetarian recipes – and the iconic avocado toast. Apollo: State-of-the-art Cooking and a Party is his second, created together with head chef Yuta Kurahashi for the restaurant at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, with 104 recipes where Danish cooking meets Japanese, French and Italian traditions. Both are published by Apartamento.
Apartamento notebooks
Apartamento Notebooks come from the magazine of the same name and have a soft, textured cover, a sewn spine and 100 g Munken Pure paper from Swedish Arctic Paper. Both cover and paper are FSC-certified.
Books as a gift
A book is one of the easiest gifts to get right, because you can choose it for the person rather than by the size. A cookbook for the one who cooks, a coffee table book for the one who has just moved, and a notebook for the one who writes everything down.
