Rare vintage Murano table lamp shaped as a perfectly round globe in white filigrana glass, mouth-blown in Italy in the 1970s. The fine, milky-white canes are drawn into the clear glass and radiate like rays from the small star-shaped pontil at the top – a classic filigrana pattern that demands real craftsmanship. Switched off, the globe reads graphic and striped; lit, the lines soften and the lamp casts a warm, milky glow across the room. The globe rests on a polished brass base.
The lamp takes a small E14 fitting and has just been rewired with a new white cord with switch and EU plug, so it is ready to plug in. A bulb of max. 40 W is plenty – ideally a clear or frosted globe bulb that lets the lines come forward. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Perfect on the bedside table, the console, the desk or in a window sill – and just as decorative off as on.
Please note that handmade Murano glass may have small variations in shape, pattern and surface – including air bubbles, uneven spacing between the canes or minor irregularities. These are not defects, but part of the unique character and craftsmanship that make each piece of Murano glass truly special.
