Teapots in ceramic and glass
A good teapot is the difference between a cup of tea and a small ritual. At Studio Hafnia you will find handmade teapots in Japanese ceramic and hand-blown Italian glass – chosen for character as much as for function, so the pot is as beautiful on the table as it is pleasant to pour from.
Japanese teapots in ceramic
Our Japanese teapots are thrown and glazed by hand and come in five striped colours: dark blue, light blue, light green, yellow and pink, all on a white base. Ceramic holds the heat longer than glass, so the tea stays warm throughout the pot. Small variations in glaze and line are part of the craft – no two pots are quite alike. Glass teapots with a filter
From Italian Ichendorf Milano we carry teapots in borosilicate glass with a built-in filter – Cha No Yu in clear glass and Piuma in soft pink. The filter lets you brew loose leaves directly in the pot, and the clear glass lets you watch the tea steep and the colour develop. Borosilicate glass handles temperature changes and is light and thin in the hand.
Ceramic or glass – which should you choose?
Choose ceramic if you drink tea slowly and want the heat to last. Choose glass if you use loose leaves or blooming tea and want to see it. If the pot is for matcha, different tools apply – you will find those under matcha accessories.
Frequently asked questions
