Stainless steel trivets from Roger Orfèvre

French Roger Orfèvre is known for kitchen tools in stainless steel, and the trivet is one of those designs that has not changed — because it works. It is built from two linked frames that fold out, so it either carries a single pot or stretches out beneath two pans or a large oven dish.

Six colours

The trivet comes in polished stainless steel and in five colours: cream, green, light blue, yellow and dark blue. The colours are the same ones Roger Orfèvre uses on their bread baskets, so the table can be matched across pieces.

Why stainless steel

Steel does not rust, does not discolour from heat and wipes clean with a cloth. Unlike trivets in cork, wood or silicone it does not absorb grease or odour, and it can go straight from the hob to the table.

How large a pot can it hold?
Folded together it fits an ordinary pot or pan. Folded out it covers two pots or a full-length oven dish.

Will it scratch the table?
The steel is hard, so place it on a tablecloth or a placemat if the tabletop is delicate.
