A rare and storytelling vintage Kokeshi doll from Japan, featuring an elegant expression and unique full-body inscription. The face is delicately painted with smiling eyes, arched brows, and a small mouth, while the black hair is adorned with red ribbon-like markings on each side.
What makes this doll truly special is the vertical Japanese calligraphy that wraps around the entire body — likely a dedication, commemorative message, or ceremonial text. The lower part features decorative green and red bands, and the overall finish showcases the warm tone of the natural wood with signs of age. The back of the head is left plain and unpainted.
