This vintage Kokeshi doll from Japan measures 21.5 cm and displays clear signs of age and wear, telling the story of its history and origin. The body is adorned with a striking hand-painted floral motif in red and black, accented with green leaf-like brushstrokes that contrast beautifully against the natural tone of the wood.
The doll features a slender, slightly conical shape with decorative stripes and faded pigment details at the base. Her head is topped with a stylized black hairstyle, complemented by floral-like red accents. The face is delicately painted with closed eyes, thin arched brows, and a small red mouth – all rendered in calm, precise brushstrokes.
Signed by the artist on the underside, the piece holds traditional characteristics of the Naruko style. While visibly worn, the weathered finish only adds to its authenticity and vintage charm.
