This vintage Kokeshi doll from Japan stands 24 cm tall and features a simple yet harmonious design in the classic Naruko style. The slender, cylindrical body is decorated with a vertical row of stylized red flowers resembling chrysanthemum petals – a motif often associated with longevity and celebration in Japanese tradition.
The doll’s rounded head is painted with black hair and red accents on the sides. The facial expression is cheerful and welcoming, with smiling closed eyes, high-arched brows, and a small red mouth – all applied with confident, precise brushstrokes that bring warmth and character to the piece.
