On rough, unglazed clay and terracotta the bond is less reliable. It must not hang in a bathroom, utility room or conservatory: moisture can soften the adhesive and release the disc.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eHow to fit it\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eClean the back of the plate with scouring cream and let it dry. Work a little water into the adhesive, leave the disc for 5-10 minutes until it turns tacky, and press it firmly into place. Leave it to dry overnight, then pull on the ring before hanging the plate.
